CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – Kathryn Ball had lost all hope.

On Wednesday, she received an email that read her wedding reception at the Meadow Event Park, home of the State Fair, was cancelled due to the state fair’s bankruptcy.

She’s getting married next month. She had reserved the hall 8 months ago. Her parents paid $4,000.

Finding a reception hall on such short notice seemed like an impossibility, but when CBS 6 aired her story Wednesday night, the calls and emails started pouring in Thursday morning.

Hotels, museums and dozens of others offered their reception halls to her.

“Last night we were left with no choices whatsoever, and now we have so many options…it’s just so, so overwhelming,”, said Kathryn.

Nancy Tait with the Science Museum of Virginia said she had to do something when she saw Kathryn’s story.

“We called to see what we could do to help,”  said Tait.

Historic Tredegar Iron Works offered to hold the reception, the Greater Richmond Convention Center, and Stewart Berry Designs, a wedding planner and florist were among those offering to help.

Now the so to spare, Kathryn’s dream wedding will go well after all.

“I feel so blessed to know this many people want to help us,”, she said.

Kathryn says she hasn't decided where the reception will take place, but will think about it over the weekend.
