CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va (WTVR) - The FBI Child Sex Exploitation Task Force has arrested a Chesterfield doctor.

A federal search warrant revealed computers, cameras, and four articles of soiled children’s clothing were taken from the home of Dr. Paul D. Hite on Old Gun Road in Chesterfield County.

According to an affidavit between Feb. 1 and Feb. 17, 2012, a detective in Washington D.C. on FBI task force chatted online with Dr. Hite.

During these conversations, investigators said Hite expressed a desire to engage in sexual activity with minors, one a three-year-old child.

Investigators said Dr. Hite stated he worked in “healthcare.”  A federal source confirmed Dr. Hite is an anesthesiologist and has worked at Johnston Willis Hospital in Chesterfield County.

“I'm sure they're looking into if any of this happened on the job,” said CBS 6 legal expert Todd Stone.  “He's entrusted with putting people under, and they can very well be investigating if he took advantage.  If they find that out, there's no ceiling on his punishment."

Stone said if the allegations are true, detectives would have to prove Dr. Hite was the person actually using the computer during the online conversations.

D.C. Metro police said it was against policy to release Dr. Hite's booking photo. Dr. Hite faces at least three federal charges including possession of child porn and taking incident liberties with a minor.
