National Slavery Museum bankruptcy hearing in Federal Court

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – A federal bankruptcy judge will hear from both sides in the ongoing saga surrounding the derailed National Slavery Museum that was to be built in Fredericksburg. An attorney representing former Governor Douglas Wilder presented a plan for the museum to exit bankruptcy earlier this month. The attorney, Sandra Renee Robinson, presented the plan to Chief Judge Tice at Federal Court in Richmond. Attorneys representing the City of Fredericksburg are also expected to appear in court. The museum is $7 million in the red. Fredericksburg is one of the museum’s creditors. The museum lost its tax exempt status earlier this month.
