FREE STUFF: Pancakes, coffee and other freebies

FREE PANCAKES: On National Pancake Day, this Tuesday, February 28, 2012, IHOP will give you one free short stack of buttermilk pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.Please note, they will be accepting donations to support local charities.

FREE COFFEE: Celebrate Leap day on Weds. Feb. 29th, with a free “any size” cup of coffee all day long at any Richmond area McDonald’s.  The offer is good for dine-in and drive-thru.

FREE MOVIES:  Ashland Firehouse Theatre will be showing free movies on Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm, beginning this Saturday. The free movies continue weekly through early April. The theater is at 201 Duncan Street. Click HERE for a list of the movies.

FREE ADMISSION: Enjoy a performance by the Richmond Concert Band, this Sat. Feb. 25th, 7p.m. At Bethia  United Methodist Church. That’s at 11700 Winterpock Road in Chesterfield.

FREE ADMISSION:  Enjoy 12 hours of bluegrass by some favorite area bands at the 3rd Annual Bluegrass Marathon Jam.  Sat. Feb. 25h from Noon to Midnight at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen.  And you’re invited to bring your instrument and sit in and play if you’d like.

FREE CONCERTS:  The American Harp Ensemble has a series of free local concerts as they get ready for a trip to Carnegie Hall . You can see them on  Friday, Feb. 24th Reveille United Methodist Church, 4600 Cary Street Rd.  Admission is  free but donations are welcome to help pay for their  trip in March.

FREE JAZZ: The Virginia Museum has free admission to it’s Jazz Cafe program every Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Upcoming performances include   the LKB Jazz Trio (2/23) Emme St. James and her Jazz Gentlemen (3/1), Marlysse Simmons Quartet (3/8) and the Sharon Rae North Quartet (3/15).  Both Jazz Cafe and general Museum admission are always free.

BOGO:  Enjoy “buy one, get one” free admission all this month (February 2012) at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in North Richmond.

FREE ADMISSION:  SunTrust Bank is celebrating Black History Month with a free public art exhibit in the SunTrust Art Gallery located at 919 East Main Street. The collection is on loan from Virginia Union University and is of two renowned African American artists, Thornton Dial and Mose Tolliver.  The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The exhibit will be up until February 28th.

FREE LESSON:  With these milder temperatures, if you want a taste of winter, check out a free introductory lesson, ice skating or ice hockey at either SkateNation Plus in Short Pump or Richmond Ice Zone in Midlothian. We’ve got the registration link on our website.

FREE TAX HELP: Tax time is creeping up quickly. If you’d like free help preparing your 2011 income tax return, there are trained volunteers at 13 sites across the metro area that can help you out.  Click here for more information.

LOTS OF FREE STUFF: How about getting and giving stuff free? The Freecycle Network is made up of nearly five thousand groups and nearly 70-thousand members around the world who are getting and giving away stuff free. Membership is free It’s a great way to recycle, get rid of items you don’t want, and get things you do.

FREE TAX PREP: Chesterfield-Colonial HeightsDepartment of Social Services will provide free tax-preparation and filing assistance until March 29th . The service will be available on Thursday afternoons at the Smith-Wagner Building, 9501 Lucy Corr Circle, Chesterfield.

FREE CREDIT REPORTS: Did you make a resolution to get your finances in order? This is a great time to get a free copy of your credit report from each of the three major credit bureaus.  Your personal information is completely protected. This site is sponsored by Equifax,Trans-Union and Experian.

FREE ADMISSION: Enjoy free admission to The Virginia Historical Society,  with access to the museum galleries and research library. The museum is at 428 North Boulevard in Richmond.

FREE KIDS MEALS: Kids eat free at McAlister’s Deli every Tuesday from 4-9pm with the purchase of an adult entree.  There are two locations in the Richmond area, Gayton Crossing and Westchester Commons in Midlothian.

FREE STUFF: If you’re a Facebook member, a lot of restaurants are currently offering freebies, if you “like” them on Facebook. Search for your favorite and see if they have an offer. And while you’re on Facebook, stop by the CBS6 page and “like” us too.

FREE QDOBA: Children eat free at Qdoba on Sundays with the purchase of an adult entrée.

FREE FIREHOUSE SUBS: A lot of restaurants offer birthday clubs that you have to sign up for, to get freebies on your special day. At Firehouse Subs, just show up on your birthday with I.D with your birth date, and get a free medium sub. There are several locations in the metro area.
