RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Mo Money Taxes is taking heat in several states from people who say they have still not received IRS-issued refunds.

Police and the Better Business Bureau in Richmond have also received complaints about the company.

Tuesday, half a dozen people showed up at the Mo Money located on Belt Boulevard.

Some said they were told to pick up their checks last week, but were then given the runaround.

“They said it was a problem with their bank, and their bank is all the way in Southern California, and they were holding the checks because there was so many,” said 19 year-old Cintricie Davis.

Tuesday Davis showed up to find an empty store.

“It`s unprofessional. It doesn`t even seem real,” she said.

Mo Money Taxes in other cities have been hit with similar complaints – including Norfolk where all Mo Money locations have been shut down while police investigate.Meanwhile, Markey Grandberry, CEO of Mo Money out of Memphis, Tennessee, blamed a computer glitch. He said the IRS is saying its delayed refunds for early filers.

“We don`t corporately own all the offices in the nation, but know that this is not a Mo Money USA problem, this a systematic problem,” he said.
