RICHMOND, Va.  (WTVR) - Today the first Richmond "eagle-cam" went live. The camera will remain in place for a few months and chronicle the laying and hatching of eagle eggs.

The coverage is a partnership between the Center for Conservation Biology and the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

The camera will run 24 hours a day. The Times-Dispatch reports that project managers can control the cameras remotely and zoom in or tilt the camera to provide the best views.

The nest is on private property. To read more about the project, visit theRichmond Times-Dispatch.

It is expected that the eggs will be laid in February and hatch sometime in March.

At that point they will be in the nest more frequently.

The non-stop U-Stream feed of the eagles can be found here.
