State Republicans announce plan for 2012 General Assembly session

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - State Republicans took to the steps of the Virginia State Capitol Tuesday afternoon to announce their plans for the 2012 General Assembly session.

The Republican agenda highlighted 10 priorities for the session.

Those priorities included creating jobs, improving Virginia schools and stabilizing the Virginia Retirement System. [CLICK HERE: Read the Governor's release on the Republican's 2012 plan]

"The initiatives in our agenda aim to create a more efficient and effective government that will help private sector job creators succeed and get people back to work." Governor McDonnell said in a prepared statement released to the media.
