HENRICO COUNTY, VA (WTVR) – Police arrested Jessica Marie Carr, 23, after six children were found alone in a Henrico County, Virginia home.

Henrico Police spokesman Lt. Eric Owens told CBS 6 officers were called to the home along the 8200 block of Jack Burd Lane to investigate a “suspicious situation” involving children around 6:00 p.m. on December 30, 2011.

Left home alone were an 11-month-old child, a one-year-old child, a three-year-old child, two four-year-old children and a nine-year-old child, according to police.

Owens said Carr returned to the home while police were investigating and said she left another adult in the home while she ran to the store.

However Owens said as the investigation continued, Carr gave officers inconsistent accounts of what happened.

Carr is charged with Child Neglect and Obstructing Justice.

Owens said he did not know the relationship between Carr and the children.
