HENRICO COUNTY, VA (WTVR)- Henrico Police have made an arrest in what they call an assault and carjacking, in the West End.

Lt. Kenneth Sperry tells CBS 6 that police arrested 38-year-old Daniel Gilbert Wolfrey, of Bumpass, Virginia, overnight.

Wolfrey is accused of forcing his way into a woman's car and demanding the keys, while she was sitting in her car, parked in the Brookhollow Shopping Center on the 11200 block of West Broad Street, on Friday December 30th.

According to police, Wolfrey then, allegedly, grabbed and pushed the victim. Investigators say  the woman was able to kick Wolfrey and grab his hair before escaping through the passenger side door and running to a nearby store to call police.

A witness told Henrico police the man, believed to be Wolfrey, then ran to a different car in the lot and left the scene with his lights off.

The victim was not seriously injured during the assault.

Wolfrey is charged with attempted car jacking, abduction, and sexual battery.
